GEZE IGG creates open space inside the offices

Architecture office: Murphy / Jahn Architects, Chicago

The directly at the river Rhine located skyscraper is the headquarter of the "Deutsche Post AG". The 162.5 meters high tower is the highest building of the city Bonn and the highest office building of North Rhine-Westphalia. The tower was constructed in a modern glass-steel way of building. The floor space is shaped like two curcular segments. Due to high voltage fluorescent tubes the facade illuminates in red, yellow and blue during night time.

Glass was the preferred construction material of Bonn's landmark and is supposed to symbolize the openness in the company's culture. Office walls, doors, partition walls and floors are almost continously built with transparent or matt glass. GEZE creates these office rooms on all 30 floors with the Integrated All-glass system IGG and the sliding door hardware system Perlan 120, that is used for the manual sliding doors. Slimdrive SL sliding doors are situated in the transit areas. The low 7 cm construction height was crucial for choosing the SL-drive which can be integrated into a glass wall almost invisibly.
