Fulfilment of individual needs

Architekturbüro: Herzog & de Meuron, Munich

The requirements of the REHAB Basel are complex, since it caters to the different and individual needs of paraplegics and brain damaged patients. It is not a hospital, but a center where both patients and their relatives can rehabilitate. A special challenge for the planners were the different therapeutic prerequisites for the successful rehabilitation of paraplegics and brain damaged patients. Therefore, not only adequate premises were important, but also their functionality. Furthermore, they must contain very high flexibility for adjustments to the long-term protection of the REHAB Basel and its future development.

The GEZE SecuLogic System for emergency routes that was installed in the building, can be controled and driven centrally over the visualising software VAT 220.
