GEZE establishes new subsidiary in Singapore

With the foundation of a new subsidiary in Singapore, GEZE took a further step in the course of its international strategy in South East Asia. In order to guarantee an independent and market-oriented business development in the Asia Pacific Region, GEZE has now been present in the region with its new subsidiary, for a short time.

After the GEZE sales office was first opened in December 2010, GEZE immediately took the next step with the foundation of the subsidiary in Singapore, and is thus doing justice to the great significance of the states in Asia Pacific. Moreover, the constantly increasing demand for GEZE product solutions in Singapore made the expansion of the sales and service network and the foundation of a subsidiary in the region necessary, so that the market could be handled in a targeted and efficient manner.

Singapore's economy is largely focussed on exports. The city state is considered to be the most important business partner for Germany in the region of the ASEAN countries and is, due to its favourable infrastructural situation, the linchpin of the Asian region.  Around 700 German companies are currently established in the country. Around five percent of the gross domestic product of Singapore is generated by the construction industry. In 2010, Singapore's construction industry, as in the previous years, was able to achieve two-digit growth rates. Moreover, the supervisory authority "Building and Construction Authority" is assuming a stabilisation of demand in the construction sector at a high level for 2011 and the following three years.

GEZE has had firm roots in Asia for many years. In 1996, a one hundred percent subsidiary was founded in Tianjin in China. Around 420 employees very successfully attend to the rising demand of GEZE products on the Asian and global markets. There have been affiliated sales offices throughout Asia Pacific ever since. GEZE is continuing this direct involvement in the economic metropolis of Singapore with the new subsidiary.

Located in the business district Bukit Batok in the west of the island state, the headquarters of the new subsidiary also have a new ultra-modern showroom. Here, the GEZE product range – i.e. automatic door systems, door closer technology, sliding door fitting systems, window and ventilation technology, smoke and heat extraction systems (RWA), closing technology, escape route and emergency exit and access control systems, as well as glass systems – can be demonstrated "live" by the product consultants in terms of functionality and benefits.
